A scarce sleeve patch as issued firstly during the National Service period in the RAF's history (Feb 23rd 1959) to airman volunteering to rescue air crew from mountain and inaccessible areas after flying accidents, particularly in the mountainous training regions of the Highlands of Scotland. Excellent moth and damage free condition, but grubby where removed from a tunic.
