Another MI 9 invention being a compass in the form of two battledress buttons,
One button has a small spike on which the other sits on the upper button being the compass. When stood on a flat surface the top button moves to indicate north/south. The top button is marked with indicating dots.
When worn on the battledress the buttons are indistinguishable from an ordinary button.
The wearer would be informed as to which buttons serve as a compass, or more likely stitch the buttons to his own BD in his own way.
The ice of card is the original issue card the buttons were issued on. They were distributed in cards of multiple buttons.
