A superb WW1 US 3rd Army, newly formed US Tank Corps enlisted mans tunic and matching 3rd Army marked helmet uniform grouping.
A single mans uniform items consisting of a superb untouched WW1 service dress tunic and US Brodie helmet.
Tunic is in stunning un-touched original condition, complete with all correct period vintage insignia.
Insignia consist of ‘US’ and Tank Corps collar buttons. Sergeant rank stripes to right sleeve, two good conduct chevrons to lower left sleeve, single red overseas chevron to mid upper left sleeve and correct first pattern US armoured formation sleeve patch to upper left sleeve. To the centre of the armoured sleeve patch is a period hand embroidered 3rd Army formation sign (see images).
Tunic is moth and damage free, with some slight staining to the exterior. Interior has been professionally tailored and lined presumably for extra comfort and warmth.
US manufactured Brodie helmet with all correct US manufacture features. Period painted 3rd Army formation sign to helmet front.
Liner is now a little crumpled, and the chin strap is absent.
An area of rusting to the helmet rear brim to its outer and underside.
A superb grouping to what was then a very small elite US branch of service.
