A superb pair of period, hand made, heavy field duty ankle boots.
Quality boots that have had field use and as such show the appropriate wear.
Soles with heavy duty steel studs, a couple of which are now absent.
The leather laces have the added touch of having anti-fray steel ends (see images).
The leather is of a very ‘heavy weight’ and as such the boots are heavy.
The leather uppers and soles are supple, not dried to a ‘crisp’.
Maker marked to the inner ankles in gold block John Hobbs with two London addresses (now faint with wear too the gold detail).
Boots of a typical period appearance and quality make up.
The rear ankle boot pullers are a later addition/replacement.
Would display well with puttees on a mannequin form !
(A boot of this type, hand made today would be of considerable cost).
(Due to item weight if post is required overseas additional post will be levied. The delivery price quoted is for UK delivery via Parcel Force).
