Description

A rare badge appertaining the Kitchener’s New Army Recruits, being a badge for the ‘New Bristol Battalion’ The Gloucestershire Regt.
This badge would have been issued to a new volunteer for a new ‘Bristol Battalion’ serving within the Gloucestershire Regt.
Some slight rusting under the celluloid face, but otherwise in excellent condition.
A very rare badge !
In the early stages of the Kitchener new army recruiting scheme lapel badges for the various new battalions were given to new recruits to show that they were now under the service of the King.
The badges took various low cost forms from simple card on lapel pins, to the more elaborate multi-piece badge.
