Formation marking for the 7th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment.
A well used/late war re-issued ‘B’ pattern Brodie field service helmet, with blue painted formation markings as detailed above.
The helmet has been period refinished and reissued with the exterior and underside brim refinished.
The helmet rim band is absent giving the appearance of a first pattern helmet. The area where the rim has previously sat is visible when the helmet is viewed closely.
To both side flanks are painted with inverted blue triangles, which are now grubby and with abrasions and rust marking, in keeping with the rest of the helmet.
The liner is in the main present and intact.
The chin strap is broken with the central chin section absent.
Moderate denting to the shell crown with surface rust staining throughout the helmet. Their are a couple of areas where the paint finish is chipped with said areas now again with rusting.
A helmet showing much use, and with much ‘character’.
