An iconic cap to a ships office serving with the White Star Shipping Line.
Cap is in very good used condition, being damage free and with only three small moth holes to the cap crown (see images).
Early manufacture cap being ‘Gieves’ marked only. Cap vintage is very probably late 1920s / early 1930s.
Centre band in matching condition to the cap, fitted with a high relief bullion wire ships office White Star Shipping Line badge.
One small area of bullion wire snagging to one flag pole to the badge centre (see images).

The White Star Line is synonymous with the Titanic disaster, but as with the previous listing White Star worked with the Admiralty and Government under emergency regulations and sailed trooping, supply and hospital ship facilities during WW1….The most famous and largest hospital ship in the British fleet HMHS Britannic, floundered on war service in the Mediterranean in November 1916.
