A mint condition (un-used) propaganda stamp ‘used’ in the promotion and ‘push’ for the return of the Saar-land to German, Third Reich rule after its confiscation under the Treaty of Versailles and League of Nations Mandate from 1920 onward.
The Saar district was a very important coal producing area on the Franco-German border.
Its return to the Reich, “Heim zum Reich” campaign was the first step that Nazi Germany took in ending the ‘heavy handed’ Treaty at the end of WW1 penalising Germany in reparations for the ‘monetary cost’ of the war.
This is a paper item intended for ‘the moment’. Items such as this were not manufactured with longevity in mind. Its like (and similar items of what ever nationality) are of immence historic value, a statement of the times and place they are from !
A superb moment in time item….the only one of its type I have ever encounter
