The archive has its roots in WW1, with the individual being a veteran of WW1.
The bulk of the grouping is GWR related and starts in the early 1930’s. Their are a number of rail union ‘subscription’ books all paid up in full until after the war.
Other GWR related items are dining club tickets, staff association and employee members cards.
Their are some GWR residue transportation dockets and items related to employer insurance schemes. (See the images).
Their are also two GWR WW2 rail service lapel badges attributable to the archive…..and a single uniform GWR cloth collar badge in red detail.
The second half of the grouping relates to the individuals membership of the British Legion as an ex-serviceman.
Two British Legion badges one in 9crt gold in its jewellers box of issue, and a later badge to the Royal British Legion.
All this accompanied by two membership ties.
The GWR cloth badge was in the box contains the gold BL badge to protect its obverse.
A nice period in time archive showing long service to the railway and British Legion.
(As a matter of interest the gold badge, precious metal value, is approximately £70).
