A superb, never on the market, and totally untouched Victorian period, home service blue cloth helmet plate for the ‘The Royal Scots’. Absolutely damage free and with all finish intact and unpolished.
The silver work is black with ‘storage’ tarnishing and the gilt plate is ‘dull’, again through being untouched for many years.
This item has been recently found in an attic house clearance, wrapped in soft cloth. It has been dusted off with a soft brush only.
Two centre plate fitting pins are absent, possible never fitted.
Could not be bettered for condition.
