Description

A super, untouched service helmet for a member of an ambulance crew, serving on the Home Front.

Early military grade helmet, (with army colouring to the underside and interior) period finished in Civil Defence black with the stencilled initial ‘A’ to the front. Shell dent and damage free with some age ‘marking’ and finish 95% present. Front initial with wear.

Interior with the early pattern liner and upper oval cushion, in matching condition. Good clear maker details to the shell and date 1939 (see images), with the liner in matching condition, again with good clear maker details, size and date ‘7 VERO I 1938’ (see images). Complete with matching good clean chin strap.

The nicest detail being its personalised with the owner name marked to a piece of period cloth sticky tape, just to the inside of the head rim (see again images).

Not the most exciting of WW2 home front helmets but certainly up there for condition and collectability.
