WW2 FREE POLISH FORCES ‘TOMMY’ HELMET
A rare, Free Polish forces, serving with the British Army ‘Tommy’ helmet.
Helmet is dent and damage free with its textured paint finish in dark khaki/green.
The helmet has been attic stored for many years and as such the surface is interspersed with light surface rusting throughout the exterior and interior.
Interior liner in matching condition, with some age hardening.
Liner maker marked ‘Vero’ II with size detail 7 1/4 and date 1943.
Chin strap is absent. (Could be easily replaced with a period strap).
To the helmet ‘front’ is the Free Polish cap badge in faint yellow paint detail.
Painted badge detailing with some wear but is 90% present.
A rare helmet to this comparatively small, but well thought of and respected force!

(The Free Polish forces served with the British Army with distinction throughout the war in most of the major campaigns in the Desert and North West Europe.)
