A very fine example of a 1944 labelled and dated Airborne Denison smock.
The smock is used with a couple of areas of fabric damaging/field wear, but in the main is damage free with light fading to the camouflaged material again due to use.
Their are also one or two areas of light/small staining areas to to the smock (see images).
The original crutch flap is present and in correct ‘working’ order.
Zip is bright and in very good clean working order. All brass poppers are present and in working order (care as ever should be taken when opening them). Sleeve tabs are present and with three matching khaki plastic buttons to each cuff.
The interior is with a good clear (now also a little grubby) maker/issue label, marked ‘Smocks Denison Airborne Troops SIZE 4’ with an issue date of 1944.
Given the smocks I see on my travels and the prices asked I would rate this as 8.5/10 and in well above ‘the average offered’ condition, that tops encountered at present seem to be in.
Displays superbly on a mannequin form, and would fit in well with any period British Airborne display of this type.
