WW1 BRITISH 1915 RECRUITING STAFF LAPEL BADGE
A superb 1915 recruiting staff area lapel badge.
A multi-coloured enamel gilt brass, stylised badge with Union Jack flags and kings crown.
Badge centre with date 1915 surrounded by the wording ’22nd Area Recruiting’.
Part of the ‘New Army’ recruiting drive of 1915, this is one of a series of badges for different recruiting areas.
The areas are now difficult to research exactly, my own ’scant’ effort can only show this as being the North West of England, possibly the Cheshire area.
A fine, rare badge with good clear registered number
marking to the rear lapel fitting....No maker mark.
