An extremely rare piece of WW1 British field equipment, as sent to troops at the front from home.
Such cookers were commercially produced (in this case by the famous match producer 'Bryant & May), and bought by family members or war comforts committees, with a view to sending to troops serving at the front.
The box is in very good condition for its age, with some edge scuffing and good content detail.
The box has been period over wrapped with its present outer wrapping, I believe to extol the benefits of trench use. "A clever piece of period marketing'.
One of the six fuel blocks has been used; the mess tin / kettle stand is present.
A very rare kit bag item !

This is a SOLD Item.
