WW1 BRITISH ‘14 LEATHER EQUIPMENT AMMUNITION POUCH
A superb, matched manufacturer pair of 1914 leather equipment MK I single fastener converted to two fastener ammunition / cartridge pouches.
The pouches have been in my opinion little field used and as such they are in excellent damage free condition with much original mid / tan brown finish remaining.
They are now a little dusty and dry due to storage and as with most recently found pieces of leather equipment would benefit from hide food.
There is light surface scuffing to the pouch cover flaps with clear evidence as to where the single fastener strap and fixing post have been removed by Corps Salvage.
Both pouches are with correct internal pockets complete with securing straps.
The pouches are issue and WD mark free with excellent maker details to the long equipment strap facing bottom edges (See images:- The images do not do the marks justice, they are best viewed in the flesh).
The maker mark reads ‘Shaw Motor Accessor 1915 Birmingham’
A fantastic pair of pouches, now hard to find in this condition, on which an excellent set of full or skeletal ‘14 leather field equipment could be built !
