WW1 BRITISH WOMAN’S F.A.N.Y. ’STORM CAP'
An extremely rare woman’s ‘Storm’ bonnet as worn by the ’First Aid Nursing Yeomanry’ (F.A.N.Y.)
This distinctive bonnet is in excellent damage free condition showing light / careful use.
Interior is with a maker label to the crown with the maker details faint and now very hard to read. Added in indelible pencil is the owner / wearers initials ’M.C.’
Silk type liner is in tan brown with a similar head band, the head band and liner is with some fading and one area of fragility to the head band.
The khaki cap exterior is in excellent condition with a couple of areas of material snagging, and one small area of moth to the cap crown.
Cap badge is with two loop reverse fitting, with the loops bent over rather ran held in place with a split pin.
A stunning, untouched cap, typical of the women’s services of the period.
