A nice standard pattern issue WW2 Airborne service helmet by B.M.B. with faint remains of date 1944.
WW2 khaki green finish visible under the wear of the re-issued darker 1950’s ‘green’.
There is visible evidence of an over painted formation sign to the helmets front and to both sides of the helmet. Still in place is a painted formation sign in yellow and blue with over painted number 84.
Helmet liner is in good damage free condition showing honest service wear.
Webbing chin strap present and undamaged.
Helmet shell with paint wear, but in damage and dent free condition.
A nice WW2 item seeing service through to the National Service era and possibly beyond.
