WW1 BRITISH 1914 DATED VOLUNTEER L-M BAYONET FROG
A good used mid tan brown leather bayonet frog for use with a Lee-Metford bayonet.
Frog is in good supple condition. It has however been stored ‘flat’ for many years and the belt loop has been folded over upon itself causing some leather distress.
The reverse is maker marked and dated ‘Edward Jones C&M 1914’ it is issue numbered 199 and also has a very rare ‘unit’ marking IOM. This is the marking for the WW1 Isle of Man, Defence / VTC force.
The force was little in number in its day, and as such equipment marked to the unit is today incredibly rare.
It would benefit and display well (preferably on a bayonet), with an application of a neutral coloured hide food.
