WW1 BRITISH 1st. PATTERN RAF O.S. CHEVRONS
An extremely rare one piece manufactured 1914 -18 first pattern RAF overseas service chevron grouping.
Unique to the RAF on its inception, four black chevrons indicating service from 1915 through to 1918 and a green chevron indicating service during 1914.
This colour scheme was devised solely for use on the newly formed RAF while they were still wearing khaki uniforms.
These chevrons are extremely rare, this being only the second grouping I have handled in 40 years…..The only one I have ever seen covering whole war service.
