WW2 BRITISH MINISTRY OF HEALTH HOME FRONT SERVICE
A superb, untouched officials home front service helmet for a member of the ’Ministry of Health’ serving at local level.
A ‘Local Authority Officer’ ranked helmet being white with two black rank bars.
Exterior period over painted white with rank and office stencilling.
Interior in its original khaki green (military quality) finish.
Headlining in excellent damage free condition with first pattern oval cushion pad, dated 1938, size 7 by ’Vero’. Helmet shell date stamped 1939 with ’YPA II HBH’ maker details.
The under brim is marked ’Town Hall Deptford’ with a scratched owner name.
A rare helmet to this public service organisation.
