A stunning field used tunic to a 2nd Lt. serving with the 2 / 4 Battalion Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
A very heavy whip-chord material tunic with lace cuff ranking, battalion markings, period field repairs and adaptations.
All buttons matching, with matching untouched collar badges (no additional puncture holes to the collar).
Single (one year overseas) service chevron to lower right cuff and battalion formation signs (blue diamonds, now faded) to upper right and left sleeves.
Tunic is showing moderate use with field repairs to the liner and cuff rank lacing. Their are a few areas of wear to the exterior and the very nice touch of a field added field dressing pocket to the inner lining.
Sadly there is no name details with the tunic. No medal ribbons ever applied.
A very heavy tailored tunic typical of the mid war period of the ‘Great War’.
Over view:- This is an exceptional condition tunic for its age, being moth and damage free. It has all the features a collector would wish for, apart from not being named !

As a foot note for those that are interested….The rank of 2nd Lt suffered the highest proportional casualty loss throughout WW1.…In short this was the most dangerous rank to hold during the entire conflict !
