WW2 BRITISH 1940 PATTERN BATTLEDRESS TOP 43rd DIV.
A very good condition issued '40 pattern BD top with formation signs and branch of service bars.
Excellent overall condition, showing light use.
Issue label removed. Interior with WD broad arrow and issue marks.
Moth and damage free.
Formation signs 43rd (Wessex) Division with correct infantry green branch of service bars. Appears never to have had cloth shoulder titles.

43rd Div formed part of Home Force 12th Corps, and joined 21st Army group in 1943. The division took an active part in the 'D' Day 6th June landings and played an important part in establishing beach heads. It was also involved in the fierce fighting at Falaise and the Rhine crossing.
43rd Div continued on from the Rhine crossing until the cessation of hostilities in May 1945.
