A superb example of an Imperial German Prussian General Staff Officers Pickelhaube.
The black leather body is in excellent damage free condition, showing virtually no signs of age crazing, denting or age shrinkage (This and the previous listing have been very well stored / displayed for many years in a temperature controlled environment).
All silver fittings, to include fluted spike (removable), cross base, visor trim, eagle helmet plate, central star burst and chin scales are present and in untouched condition. (Buckle attachment behind chin scales is absent and the very top orb tip of the helmet plate is also absent, presumably lost in use).
Correct multi - piece state and national cockades. Helmet cross base is held in place with four gilt brass screw fixed stars. (A couple of fitting nuts, on these stars are replacements).
Garde star is of matching silver with black enamel work on black Eagle Order. Interior is complete with its calf skin half liner and silk headliner. Interior shows period wear in keeping with the helmet as a whole.
Their are no extra holes punctured in the leather body.
Their are traces of the remains of old polish in some of the crevices around various parts of the helmet.
