A superb 1940 (early date) WW2 Tommy helmet in quite outstanding condition, complete with camouflage net and shell dressing also dated 1940.
Helmet is with sand textured mid green finish with 99% exterior finish remaining. Helmet interior is virtually as new showing very little signs of use.
Underside of brim is maker marked ‘J.S.S. I with date 2 1940’.
Helmet liner is in matching superb condition, with what appears to be size detail ‘7’ only.
Khaki green netting cover in excellent damage free condition with a 1940 dated ‘First Field Dressing’ held under it made by ‘T.J. Smith & Nephew Ltd.’
There is very slight paint chipping to the helmet rim.
An early dated helmet that would be extremely hard to better.
