A late WW2 / post war produced RAF Air Ranking Officer, service dress peaked cap.
Typical late / post war construction cap showing light service use and wear.
Cap body is in excellent very clean sound condition, being damage and moth free.
Black patent peak in matching condition, with a double row of gold bullion wire for rank. Wire work showing age tarnishing throughout.
Kings crown Air Rank cap badge in matching condition with tarnishing to the bullion wire work. Cap badge on its correct black centre band, this all stitched / secured into place.
Cap under peak of green composite material. Interior with oil skin liner in excellent damage free condition.
Maker details under oil skin protector reading ‘Herbert & Johnson, New Bond Street, London…..By Appointment to the Late King George VI’ (This maker detail would indicate the caps manufacture 1952 / 53)
